The Blend:
* 84% Cabernet Sauvignon
* 8% Petit Verdot
* 8% Cabernet Franc

Aged in 40% new oak, the 2016 Proprietary Red Wine is deep purple-black in color and quite reticent at this youthful stage to begin, offering up subtle notions of potpourri, Indian spices, cigar box and iron ore over a core of crushed blackberries and black cherries with intermittent wafts of black and red currants, new leather and smoked meats. The palate is medium to full-bodied with a densely packed mid-palate and oodles of freshness framed by very ripe, finely grained tannings and laced with compelling earthy accents. It offers incredible vibrancy with tons of black and red fruit sparkle in the mid-palate leading to a provocative mineral element on the very long finish.

* 12.6% Merlot

The 2015 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has a deep, rich, red color with a purple rim. A robust wine with an assertive and alluring attack, it has notes of strawberry, cigar and tea leaves with a touch of black pepper and clove. A mouthwatering mid-palate of raspberry is followed by an expressive and bright finish. With lush and silky tannins, this ageworthy wine will show beautifully through 2038 given proper cellaring conditions.
Venge Vineyards - Napa Valley Family Reserve Oakville - 2016
A barrel sample, the 2016 Family Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon offers up a deep garnet-purple color and gorgeous, spicy nose of aniseed, cumin seed, cloves and cinnamon stick, with sandalwood, cassis, baked blackberries and licorice at the core plus hint of espresso. Full-bodied, lush and plush, the opulently fruited palate delivers a ton of spicy fruit layers with a good, long pepper and spice-laced finish.

The 2011 Estate Red is plush and smooth. Aroma descriptors include plum jam, raspberry liqueur, dark chocolate and pipe tobacco. The complex flavor profile includes black cherry, blackberry, toasty oak and Kalamata olives. The finish is long with balanced acidity and abundant fruit sweetness. Textured yet silky, the wine is very appealing in its youth, but will also age beautifully in the next 8-10 years.

Department 66 Pharaon - 2015
- Robert Parker Rated 97 Points
-Bottled by Orin Swift

Provocative aromas of sweet oak, dark chocolate liqueur, Tahitian vanilla, sage, and plum saturate the glass in a beguiling complexion of aubergine. Sapid flavors of rhubarb, savory red fruits, and boysenberries are evident and harmoniously blend with mineral notes and schistous highlights. The tannins are firm but agreeable and primed for extended aging. Finishing with a spirited acidity, the wine elegantly charms the palate indefinitely.
Mercury Head - Napa Valley - 2015
- Robert Parker Rated 95 Points
-Bottled by Orin Swift

The wine opens with a nose brimming of ripe boysenberry and cassis, complemented by hints of cigar box, fir and graphite. Full-bodied on entry, the luscious palate is full of ripe cherry and a touch of blackberry with elegant traces of sage. It closes with a satiating finish that is long and textured, supported by ample red berries and soft, dusty tannins.
Wicker - Napa Valley -2008
- Pairs well with beef, lamb, poultry, venison,
and mature and hard cheese.

Fermented in open end French oak barrels and punched down by hand, I [the creator of the wine] was struck early on by the complexity of the fruit extraction, and by how soft the tannins were. This wine was slow to open up, but so worth the wait. It is complex, ripe and luscious with all the dark fruit characters you love about Howell Mountain fruit. Black cherry, blackberry, cassis, dried herbs and tea leaf in a wine that is so well balanced it melts on your palate. 2008 will go down as one of our favorites for years to come.
